FAQ

Questions? We've got answers.

Are students from ALL Hall County schools welcome?

Absolutely. We welcome players from Gainesville City Schools, Hall County Schools (Chestatee, North Hall, East Hall, West Hall, Cherokee Bluff, Flowery Branch, Johnson), Jefferson City Schools, White County Schools, and anywhere else in the area. Our program is designed to build the sport for the entire county, not just one school.

My child has never played lacrosse. Can they join?

Yes, 100%. We specialize in teaching beginners. Private lessons are a perfect way to learn the basics before joining the summer team, or you can jump straight in. We provide coaching for all skill levels and have equipment available to borrow if you don't have your own yet.

Why is HCL so much cheaper than travel programs?

Travel ball programs have huge overhead: paying coaches year-round, renting facilities, traveling to tournaments out of state, and marketing to a wide region. We keep costs low by running a lean operation focused on our community. We're not trying to make a profit — we're trying to grow the sport locally.

What's the Youth Development program?

Youth Development (typically 6th–8th grade) is our practice-focused program. Players practice with the team twice a week to develop fundamental stick skills, positioning, and game IQ. It's $250 for the summer and perfect for younger kids just getting into the sport.

What equipment does my child need?

Field players: helmet, gloves, shoulder pads, elbow pads, and a stick. Goalies: all of the above plus a chest protector and goalie stick. We have equipment available to borrow for players who don't have their own yet. Check our Gear Guide for beginner recommendations.

Where are practices held?

Club team practices are held at Gainesville High School. Private lessons are held at various locations around Gainesville depending on availability — we'll confirm the location when you book.

Is there a payment plan available?

We may be able to work something out on a case-by-case basis. Email us at info@hallcountylax.com to discuss.

Do goalies really play for free?

Yes. Goalies are essential to the team, and we want to remove barriers for kids who want to play the position. Register as a goalie at no cost. You'll still get all the same coaching, practice time, and tournament experience as field players.
